Donor Privacy Policy

This site is owned and operated by US-Ireland Alliance. The Alliance holds the privacy of its users and donors in the utmost respect. Because we gather certain types of personal information, we feel you should have full access to the terms and conditions surrounding its capture and use, which is disclosed by this privacy statement.

We collect personal data through our email subscription, event registration, Mitchell Scholars registrations, and online donation services.  If a user prefers not to submit such information online, they may contact the Alliance to ascertain if there is an offline channel to transmit this information.

Under no circumstances does the US-Ireland Alliance divulge—sell, trade, or share—any information about an individual user or donor to a third party unless the donor has given specific permission to do so.

From these services, we may collect your first name, last name, and email address, company, position, secondary email address, address, city, state, zip code, and phone numbers (home, work, or mobile). We may collect event-specific information pertaining to your attendance and guests. We may collect the name and email of a spouse, contributor, or foundation that you provide to receive recognition for a gift.

All the above information is collected to help us tailor our content and personalize your experience. We may use this information to send you invitations and emails or mailings, updates on our programs, and scholar activities. You may opt-out of these communications at any time.

If you submit payment for an event through Paypal, we also collect payment information, credit card numbers, and billing addresses. This information is collected to process your payment and is not stored by the Alliance.

The US-Ireland Alliance protects your personal information from loss, misuse, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure by encrypting the data which you provide us with current encryption tools, including HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure) and SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols and by requiring employees with access to personal data to comply with our privacy policy. We operate secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our customers.
