26 May 2016.  Carolyn Osolinik spoke at a US-Ireland luncheon about the nomination process for the US Supreme Court.  Among the more than 50 guests were Senator Michael McDowell, Justice Peter Kelly, Justice Nial Fennelly, and two of Ireland’s former Ambassadors to the US – Sean O hUiginn and Noel Fahey. Sponsors of the event were Hayes Solicitors, Kerman & Co., IBEC, and Philip Lee Solicitors.  Several members of this year’s graduating class of Mitchell Scholars were also in attendance.

Carolyn Osolinik served as Chief Counsel to Senator Edward M. Kennedy on the Senate Judiciary Committee.  During her tenure, she coordinated and oversaw the work of Senator Kennedy’s Judiciary Committee staff and had primary responsibility for all major Judiciary Committee matters, ranging from judicial nominees, constitutional and civil rights issues, women’s rights issues, criminal law and intellectual property.  She assisted the Senator with many controversial judicial and Executive Branch nominations, including leading the effort for Senator Kennedy on a number of Supreme Court and Attorney General nominees.

Joining Carolyn for the Q&A was her husband Eddie Correia, who had also served as a senior lawyer on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
